Kharafi National recently exhibited its capabilities in highly sophisticated building management technologies.
Facilities Technology Unit, which is part of KN’s Facility Management Operations, had a promotional stand at the Smart Buildings Expo during April. The exhibition was opened by HE Sheikh Talal Khalid Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on the 17th April 2008 and ran for three days.
Despite the building boom that has been going on for several years in Kuwait and the surrounding region, and the increased use of smart technology in new buildings, this was only the second ever exhibition of its kind in Kuwait. Facilities Technology used the occasion to show-case its Johnson Controls’ products and highlight the capabilities of KN and its staff.
Since 1992, Kharafi National has been the local partner of Johnson Controls, a leader in sophisticated systems for ‘intelligent buildings’.
Facilities Technology Unit markets the company’s products, such as its integrated building management systems. FTU also provides technical support during commissioning, as well as after-sales and maintenance support for Johnson Controls’ building management systems, fire alarm, CCTV, and access and security systems. These support services are provided by FTU engineers, all of whom are trained by Johnson Controls.
The Smart Buildings Expo was very well attended. As this was the first exhibition since 1992 in which Johnson Controls’ products were shown, the KN stand was the centre of attention from leading consultants and contractors in Kuwait. FTU took the opportunity to display demonstration cases and building management workstations with sophisticated graphics which generated a lot of interest.
