Piping Insulation Systems
Gulf Insulation Systems is a joint venture between Kharafi National and Riva & Mariani Group SpA of Italy, a highly-reputable international contractor for insulation works which was established in 1937. The joint venture was founded in 2007 to broaden Kharafi National’s operations in the petroleum and chemicals sectors by meeting a growing market demand for insulation.
GIS undertakes insulation works within the Arabian Gulf region. Its reputation for excellence in delivery is founded on Riva & Mariani’s technical support coupled with Kharafi National’s resources and experience.
GIS has a state-of-the-art cladding fabrication workshop within Kharafi National’s Mina Abdullah complex in Kuwait. The workshop, which has an approximate area of 480sq m, can produce 12,000sq m of fabricated cladding material in both aluminium and stainless steel per month. This capacity may be increased to 18,000sq m per month with a second shift.
The fabrication process at GIS is fully computerized, though there is provision for some manual fabrication as a fall-back. The workshop uses Maschinenbau Biland (MABI) equipment from Switzerland and the production layout has been designed to support the highly-automated process flow from cutting through assembly to shipment. Operations are supervised by highly-qualified and experienced staff from Riva & Mariani.
Though the joint venture was only established in 2007, Gulf Insulation Systems is already undertaking several prestigious projects for major installations in Kuwait. By utilizing the latest international techniques and processes, GIS is meeting the demands of project construction schedules in a safe manner and producing quality cladding that satisfies clients. |
